16 of Europe's National Champion golf clubs travelled to Pravets Golf Club, Bulgaria, to compete in the 18th edition of the European Ladies' Club Trophy.

Hamburger Golf Club took the lead on Day 1. European Ladies' Amateur Championship runner-up, Esther Henseleit, shot four-under-par while Miriam Emmert carded a two-under-par round of 70 to take the team to six-under-par.

Ane Urchegui Garcia shot the lowest score of day one, a five-under-par 67 to put Spanish club, RNCGSS Basozabal, in second position on four-under-par, while UGC De Pan got their title defence off to a solid start, two shots further back.

The Spanish side edged into the lead on the second day, reaching seven-under-par with two under-par rounds, while the German club dropped to four-under-par.

The third round started well for the Spanish club. Ane Urchegui Garcia turned in one-under-par and Natalia Aseguinaloza Martin was looking like setting a new course record after reaching nine-under-par through 15 holes.

Both players dropped two costly shots in their final four holes however, meaning Aseguinaloza Martin would settle for a course-record equalling seven-under-par 65, and Urchegui Garcia would card a two-over-par 74.

Esther Henseleit, despite making a double-bogey on the par three eight hole, responded with a 65 of her own, narrowly missing a birdie putt on the 18th hole to set a new course record, while Mariam Emmert carded a steady level-par 72.

This meant that both clubs finished on 12-under-par. A lower total of the third 'non-counting' scores each day by Hamburger GC, meant they would become just the second German club to lift the European Ladies' Club Trophy, while RNCGSS Basozabal would have to settle for silver.

Defending champions, UGC De Pan, couldn't repeat last year's success, but claimed the bronze medals on a total of one-over-par.

Esther Henseleit was the top individual performer of the week, finishing the three rounds on 12-under-par.
