Top Four Seeds Progress to Semi-Finals - European Girls' Team Championship Day 3

12 Jul 2018

The Masters Course at Forsgårdens Golf Club is a great match play course. If you are dialed-in and take your chances the course offers a lot of birdie opportunities, but if your concentration or execution is just a little off, the course bites back.

Italy were even with Netherlands after the morning foursomes. When the singles started the Italians never looked back and secured a place in the semi-finals with four wins in the singles.

The Czech Republic also halved the foursomes with opponents, Germany. The singles matches were very close, however co-medal individual winner in stroke play, Sarah Hricikova, holed the winning putt on the 17th to send her team to the semi-finals of Flight A.

Sweden made it thru after a tight encounter with Nordic neighbour's, Denmark. Sweden was two-up going in to singles, but Denmark came out playing good golf in the afternoon. Elsa Svensson three down at one point, but fight her way back. When she holed out for par on the 17th, hole she booked a place in the semi-finals for Sweden.

Spain were the fourth team to make it through to the next round. They had to dig deep to beat England 4-3, the last and deciding match went all the way to the 18th hole.

Tomorrow's semi-finals:

Italy vs Czech Republic

Sweden vs Spain

The meda-contention matches are decided by two foursomes matches in the morning and five single matches in the afternoon. Teams need to win four matches to porgress into the final.
